PvP System Version 1 Alpha Phase
First and foremost I want to remind everyone that our PvP system's main goal during Alpha will be to figure out a healthy balance between grinding & having fun. Then apply that balance. I don't want our players spending every hour of everyday grinding away, but I don't want them not to play at all. Rewards from our pvp system will be gratifying for the amount of time put in no matter how small or large. Also remember our main goal for this project & community isn't to be the best but simply exist & have fun doing so.
As we start to build a player base I realize that our dream of a community will never happen if we have no reason for players to stay. I want to offer a classic feel that won't consume you but will be gratifying none the less. After a player reaches 60, whether during alpha, beta or live. They will want to PvP. This is why early on in our alpha stage we will be presenting to you our PvP structure and gear.
Our goal with the PvP structure & content on Naxxramas Custom is to keep it blizzlike, but not blizzard. We don't wan't players spending 18 hours in a premade everyday for three weeks to get standing 1 and rank 14 gear. Why not only have to grind out standing 1, one week. Why not have the rewards be amazing for doing so? Can't someone have something great every time they rank? Why grind for 10 weeks just to start the actual grind? On our Custom realm you will be rewarded with a cool item no matter which rank you achieved that week. Also we will not have any honor decay. Meaning you will always gain the actual value of honor your achieved that week, increasing in ranks faster than in actual vanilla.
We start this process by doing what has already been done. We removed all player PvP ranks and history. Giving everyone even ground to stand on. Our next step is this post. Informing the players of our current situation, ideas and goals for the future. Now comes what we need from the player. Input, feedback & information. This is where you come in. I have a foundation and mental structure of how I want the system to work, but I want to hear some of your idea's aswell.
